With our burst of heavy summer rain the horses were dropping shoes right and left. We had to leave Summer’s off for a few weeks until things dried out. She was tender-footed but boots helped, and she is finally back in shoes.
She has also moved to Georgia Moon Farm in Madison, GA. Owned by a friend of mine, the farm has a jump arena with pristine footing, and a hunter/jumper trainer available. I’ll be riding Summer out there to get us both over fences again. She will probably move back to Lucky 12 in September so we can continue riding in the covered arena as we head into fall.
Summer has been nothing but sensible about this move. She seems to embrace new situations with the calm aplomb of a much older, more seasoned horse.
